The Femme Harmone contemporary art gallery was opened by the Contemporary Women's Reflections Forum, founded in 2017, in Szervita Square in downtown Budapest.
As an open, experimental exhibition program and project, its fundamental motivation is to represent femininity in culture in the most complex way possible. The name Femme Harmone conveys an intellectual position that seeks to reflect on both past trends and contemporary challenges in a space of lively interaction, coordinated by the gallery itself. In this way, it is not only an essential articulation of identity, but also a value system formed on its own initiative, as the resulting solution strategies are also prominently displayed in the exhibition space.
Relying on the potential rooted in Hungarian artistic practice and striving for intensive dialogue with the international scene, Femme Harmone Gallery aims to create an inspiring environment for audiences who appreciate art.
Its programs are open to all visual art media and practices, including artistic, curatorial, and programmed research practices. By supporting the public appearance of young and older generations of Hungarian artists, it also aims to increase their visibility on the domestic and international art scene.
